9Panopticon Bill.Felony Ind:ion Money
such Treasurer taking for his indemnity the said Bill
of exchange, indorsed to him by the person to whom the money
shall have been so advanced: or should such Court in any
instance have any other funds at its disposal, it may in
like manner cause such advance to be made out of any such
other funds: and for the drawing of which said Bill such
Officer may take for his fee 1s, adding the same to the
amount of such Bill together with the price of the stamp.

Prisoner, having assumed
a false name, may be
proceeded against ex-nomine
Art. 9. If in such case by the warrant of
committment or otherwise it appears to the Court that the prisoner
had since the imprinting of such mark unlawfully
assumed any name other than such as is in the said mark
contained the Court may thereupon order an indictment for
such offence to be drawn up on the spot: for the trial on which
indictment no finding of the Bill by any Grand Jury
shall be necessary: and if on the spot there should chance
to be sufficient evidence, the Court may then & there charge
the same or any other Jury with the trial of the Prisoner for
the said offence: or if there should not be sufficient evidence,
or on the prayer of the Prisoner the Court should see reason
to adjourn the trial in order to give time for the production of
evidence on his part, the Court may adjourn the trial
accordingly, and may committ the prisoner in the mean time,
although he or she shall have be acquitted of the principal offence.
