Mode of proceeding where
letters of notice are to be conveyed
to persons not known by
name, viz: Overseers:
1. Form of direction

Art. 2. The Governor or any other person meaning for any of
the purposes mentioned in this Act to address himself to any person or
body charged with the care of the Poor in any Parish or other such place
may moreover direct as follows:

To the Postmaster of [mentioning some Post Town, such as appears
the likeliest to be that from whence letters to the place in question are
most usually delivered] to be by his procurement delivered according to the
Statute of the [here mention the day month year of our Lord Reign year
of the Reign Chapter and Section all which may be far as is usual
or intelligible in figures and abbreviations] to the officiating Minister
of the Parish of [here name the Parish, or if it be an Extra Parochial
Place having a Chapel instead of Parish put Chapel] for
the information of the Overseers of the Poor at the Church at the
next Sunday or other nearer time of the Divine Service, immediately
before or after service.

2. Mode of conveyance by
Country Post-Master

Art. 3. Every letter so directed being received by the Post-
-master of any Town, shall, if the Church be within the Town or if
the Town be the nearest Town to the Church or that from whence letters
are most usually forwarded to that Parish be by him or by his procurement
forwarded and delivery thereof made accordingly: if not he
shall cause the same to be conveyed either by Post or otherwise to the
Post Master of the Town which either is the nearest Town of that
from whence letters are most usually delivered to such Parish:
which said second names Post-Master shall cause the same to be
delivered, in the same manner as if the same has to be been originally directed.
