I 31 (a) M John Fordyce Esqr the Surveyor General
to whom for dispatch and favour, I had addressed the Letter [§ ]

him: and by way of hunting out objections on
the score of salubrity, he had taken a Sco paid a visit
to the spot, taking with him a Scotch Professor
who had found what he called Bell bells in it:
