§ 11 Disarmed Memorial
I.3 (a) The In addition to the difficulties exhibited
in a preceding Section [§ 6. D] and the ingenuity
negligence nd industry of Mr White Sollicitor, had
furnished me with this further difficulty. The distillery
with several other Houses were held under
two leases of from an immediate Tenant, of Lord Sa
the counterpart of whose Lease had not been
sent me. Part of my time was then employ'd
in fruitless endeavours to obtain this counterpart.
The counterpart could not be found. The Agent
of this Lessee in London was found. He wrote
he said to his principal, but could get no answer
for his from him.
I.3 (b) The determination being that this season should
be lost, as well as all future succeeding seasons, the application
was of course not complied with – nor,
though delivered by Mr Nepean, so much as
noticed.
I.5 (a) The word prisoners – put in brackets being used, as
here, to convey a proposition for the omission of it –
was, if I mistake not, in the copy sent to Mr
Nepean. In the copy that went afterwards to
Mr Arthur Young, the word along with the next
reported ensuing letter, this word was carefully omitted,
for the purpose of as therein declared, of
keeping out of sight, if possible, the individual
case, and thereby excluding all personal biases. By
the omission of the word prisoners, the
classes suggested by the question might as
well be paupers as prisoners.
