2. Is After the expiration of the confinement, is it a matter of importance or indifference with
reference to that information choice of measures which is or ought to be
in view in a system of prison punishment, that whether
each prisoner should shall be spared of an honest livelyhood
after the expiration of his term or left – which is almost
as much as to say compelled – to seek his
livelyhood subsistence after his discharge from prison in
the the same course of life as that which brought him there?
Among the various improved Gaols of which the plan of which is
at the expense of so much guilt forced upon the
country employed to set aside the plan of presented
by Parliament, can Messrs Long and King find so
single instance much as a single instance, in which this improvement has been introduced or in
the nature of the case would have been introduced?
