Sir

In reply to your favour of 28th Inst
respecting the castings for the Penitentiary House we shall
be glad to begin and proceed as fast as we possibly can
whenever the Genl will please to give us orders but
do not like the idea of a Penalty hanging over our
Heads however I intend to be in London in abt ten days
when, I will wait on you and the Genl to be better informed
what is likely to be wanted and the quantity he wishes
to be delivered Monthly it is our wish to do every thing we
can for his satisfaction. Your cylinder bottom is
cast and I think is a very good one the cylinder was also
cast between two & 3 weeks ago the scarcity of Water for some
days prevented us from boring it and when it was bored
proved to have many small holes in it in consequence of
which I would not send it but have orderd J M to make
another which I hope to see cast and in a forward state
before I leave home & bring you a Pattern of the openings
