To Mr John White proprietor of the
Wharf, Millbank or his Agent Mr Mason
Sir
Please to deliver on my account to Messrs
Winder & Joseph, Iron Founders, such Cast Iron of
mine as you have in your possession, lying at
your said Wharf: the quantity therefof I have no
exact means of ascertaining, but by weighing, which
will be performed by Messrs Winder & Joseph as they
receive it, with somebody on my behalf to take an
account of it, as weighed; if you choose to have
somebody at the same time, of course, there can
be no objection; & if you think it worth while,
it seems to be extremely proper, since the weight
of it, will I presume be the rule whereby what
I am to pay to you for Wharfage will be determined
- I am Sir,
Your humble Servant
Jeremy Bentham
