"Description of the Voucher" as given under that hand
by Mr Chief Inspector.

Item 2. "Paid Messrs Booth & Co for cast iron for the
frame-work of the intended Penitentiary House, and incidental
"charges for persons &c £ £1751.11.9

"Observation or Query thereupon: " No of the Query, 2."
"It being certified by a letter from Messrs Booth and Co
"that the articles therein mentioned have been paid for by
"General Bentham, a regular stamped receipt from Booth
"and Co is required to evidence the payment.

In addition to the above requisition it is, on the present occasion necessary to advert to
the immediately following ; with the description therein given of the This in which it is
grounded.

Items stands in these words. viz.

Neither of the charge - The proper course of procedure
endeavoured to be changed for the purpose of
imposing on the Accountant besides the truth and
expense of a correspondence, the expense of a Stamp Duty which is in
the view and conception of Mr Chief Inspector might
eventually be useless and which by the tendency of
his requisition observations and as contained in his next paragraph
he was labouring to
