Having the operations observances most essentially necessary to
the due fulfilment of this collateral end, is the so
ordinary matters, that whatever information may
in each occasion be necessary to the Accountant, to
enable him to furnish with the least delay, vexation
and expense, to third persons as well as himself,
the indiv whatsoever he happens to have in
his power, of the evidence necessary to entitle
him to his discharge, shall, to in each occasion, be possessed by him.

Judges of this Judicatory (the Commissioners) it belongs, amongst other things
to see that whatever body of evidence have been by each several Accountant
been sent in along with his Account,
shall for to the purpose in question be, if practicable compliant
and sufficient: and in this view, if in relation to any given Item the mass of evidence
put in or tendered in the first instance be not sufficient
to warrant the relevance of it, to ascertain, viz.
by means of the requisite necessary queries and other requisitions,
whether it can or can not be rendered sufficient to
their purpose: and - under the notion of sufficiency, truth
as well as genuineness or authenticity, being
of course included, under the idea of sufficiency) in case
of suspicion of fraud.
