By In the Query No 4, (being the only Query in Observation applied applying to this third Article or
term in its Account the information so necessarily and
reasonably desired is neither furnished nor in direct terms refused.
But, here as before, the words employed in the penning of the Query
are such, that suppressing it the study of Mr Chief
Inspector to work up the perplexity of the Accountant to
the its utmost possible height, are words better adapted to that purpose could
have been found, - Of the "fresh acknowledgement so
tendered, he it says nothing: but a requisition is entered
by which the Accountant is required to produce "the
"receipt:" and this with the Account a requisition expressed by Mr Chief Inspector - in these terms, lying before him, in which,
it had with careful discrimination it had been declared
in so many words: "the receipt not forthcoming"
and consequently not capable of being produced.
