III Query Queries in relation to Item 4. (Disbursements by
Mr John Lloyd, &c Foreman of the Works &c being paid
in Wages to workmen employed in the said Works.

The said Mr Lloyd, by whom the Books, in which
these payments were entered, were kept for part of the
time, and Mr Hutchinson by whom, as stated
in the Accountants first Letter accompanying his Postscript to his
Account, they were kept for the remainder of the time,
being ready, on inspection of the Books to give their respective attestations
to the correctness of them, will such their attestations
be received in any, and in what form
and mode, to give p the purpose effect of giving to the said Books the character
of Vouchers? for example by signing their attending to sign their respective
names to the several pages, or by their signing a declaration
applicable in general terms to all the pages? and in
each case with or without an affidavit, or personal
examination, on oath or not upon oath?

N.B. Mr Lloyd though it was only during
part of the time (viz. the first part) that he made paid
the payments moneys in question and made the entries accordingly
in the Books, yet as he superintended superintending continued paying more or less attention
to the works, and
the workmen during the whole remainder of the time, he can is consequently,
(the Accountant believes) enabled to speak to their presence during for and
such remainder of the time: and by the experience
acquired during the time when he paid them himself,
he of course became perfectly acquainted with the
rates at which they were respectively paid.
