But But on no one none of of these naval articles no work was was any work ever
done, by any of the workmen here in question. From the foundry the articles
were dispatched to the either by way of London,
or directly to the sea ports at which those naval works
were carried carrying on.

Rejecting the evidence so tendered as above, and which
is the only evidence which the Accountant is able to give, or which the nature of the case admitts
or which Mr Chief Inspector in his said Query
No 5 insists on having "the receipts of the parties"
viz meaning (as supposed) of the said journeymen workmen, or oth (add to)
"other evidence" and this, after having been previously
given to understand, viz by the said Account, together with
the Books, therewith sent, in to the intent of their serving
(after due attestation) as Vouchers, that no such receipts
were taken, nor is any other evidence to be and that no evidence from any other
had sources than the testimony of the two persons abovementioned
is to be had

The Accountant hereupon begs to be further informed
whether

Supposing the evidence, now by the query the present Query now for the second time
tendered, to be rejected by the Commissioners as inadmissible, or regarded
by them as insufficient, the Accountant hereupon
begs to be informed.

1st. Whether the omission to take from the said several
journeymen workmen a receipt for each sum of money
on the score of weekly wages due to them, be regarded
as sufficient such a deficiency as, in the opinion of the
Commissioners binds or authorises them to disallow the
Accountant's discharge in respect of the sum total of
the said disbursements, viz. £1821.16s.4 or any and what part thereof: and
if so, on what principle or rule of law is such disallowance justified?
