Under these circumstances In this state of things, although he was sure
that a disallowance of the article by the Commissioners, would be the consequence
of the omission, he would not undertake any
such vexatious task as that of hunting out the sued
several workmen: being confident having no apprehension that after observation made
of the evidence hereby tendered by him and in
the supposition in question either rejected as inadmissible
and or regarded as insufficient, any Attorney or Solicitor
General would advise the institution of any suit or demand grounded
in the disallowance of the article in question: still
less that the any Lord Com Treasury Board would
under any such suit to be constituted, or the Court of
Exchequer or any other Court of law deem or adjudge
accordi in favour of any such demand.
Accordingly, in the event of the Board's so
far adopting what appears to him to be Mr. Chief
Inspector Whitsunt's ideas and opinions in this
head, as to require of this Accountant the procuring
receipts or other evidences from the survivors of the said several
workmen, he begs to be understood, as hereby definitively declining
to engage in any such task.
