[3. Requisition the 3d. "He is also required to state
"whether the he has received any assurances of the intention
"of the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury, to
"carry the original plan of erecting penitentiary Houses
"into execution."]

Answer to this 3d requisition

1. I object to this requisition also, as irrelevant,
and for on the same reason ground as that stated in my
answer to the last preceding one.

2. Assurances to the effect in question are had
already been stated by me [+] [+] in my said
examination,
(being the document
to which in and by my
abovementioned first
Letter of the 14 July
1807 to the Board,
Mr Chief Inspector
had been referred: the document in my said answer to the said
last preceding requisition Therefore the information required by this question, having
already been answered already furnished before the question
was put, the question was and is on that account useless.

3. On this occasion, I again beg leave of the
Board to observe, that the only relevant question in
this head that could have been relevant was — whether
the authority given to me in the said Kings warrant
for the expenditure of the money thereby granted to me
had been revoked, while any part of the said money
was left unexpended: and that to warrant my
continuing the expenditure of it, though in fact I had
received assurances express and implied together in abundance, as well during
the said expenditure so at pending as subsequently to the expenditure,
as such assurances were ever could ever have been necessary. [to warrant it]
