With the help of such additional information and
assistance as I obtained on the same occasion, I obtained from my
Brothers then late Foreman in respect of the voucher in
question, viz. Mr John Lloyd, (the person named
in the Query subjoined in my first letter to the
Board) these papers served the were proved sufficient for
the purpose above mentioned — and which was the only
purpose I had which, in applying for them, I
had in view: for and if as by my said first
letter + + 14 July 1807; and for the reason therein given I it had
never entered into my conception, that, in respect of the
£2,000 in question, or any part of it, I had any
account to render to any body.

Had it been to a stranger that the application had
been to be made, there would naturally the intercourse would, probably enough have been
some written correspondence on the carried on in some such shape
that some written memorial of it would have been preserved.
But, my Brother and I occupying at times either the same
house, or two contiguous houses, and being all along upon that
sort of footing, which is natural as between brothers, there was nothing in the nature
of such our application
that could fix it
either on paper
or on the memory.

better understood, by being postponed to the close of those
in the course of the Answer which I proceed to give
to the preamble to this 3d Query
