[The matter standing thus — I in my turn, find
myself under the unpleasant necessity for my own
satisfaction protection, [and that this business may some time or other
receive a termination, and a termination not altogether
repugnant either to the law of evidence or the dictates
of Justice] to submitt a question or two designed
for the eyes of the Board, if it be its destiny to reach them.

1. To what purpose use is that I am thus plied
with succeeding questions and other requisitions, no
notice being taken to declarations of mine already
made respecting the very matter of such requisitions?

2. What security have assurance can I have after neglect shewn to the preceding
declarations so made by me, that these or any other
succeeding ones will experience any better fate?

3. In what way can I hope to see this course of
inquiry not to say requisition, have an end, unless
it be some decision compleatly arbitrary, obscure and
as these implied ones that seem already to have been formed,
unsupported by any reasons which in the way of responsibility,
could operate as a check upon the person
upon whom they are pronounced.]
