To & Whitfield
Sir
On the occasion of an Account I had to pass
before a judicatory, the seat of which was at first
in Somerset Place, but afterwards, by some process
to me unknown I found transferred to the Adelphi
I found myself for my own protection preservation against a
course of unwarranted vexation to which I saw no
end, I found myself, after an unsuccessful endeavour
to obtain relief on less unpleasant terms I found myself
under rendered to the unpleasant necessity of preferring
Articles of Charge a formal charge in form against the Officer
Mr Chief Inspector Whitcomb, at in whose hands the vexation
was experienced found its immediate cause.
At one certain period point of time on the occasion of the a short respite
which for a particular reason purpose I found myself under the occasion
to pray from the indulgence of the Board my Judges I
brought to view in such terms as the extreme pressure
I found felt myself under in respect of time admitted the
objections I tried to make to the course mode of procedure
observed on the occasion of my account: for if the
account I had presented noticed for some purposes
left unnoticed as to others, the reference made by me
to former statements the transcription of which from a printed
copy out to a manuscript paper would have been useless
passed in like manner without , as if the statements
had never been made, or the distant individual by
whom they had been made, a person to whose declarations
no regard was due + + Go on with the charges
