These propositions can
not hope for any
evident acceptance
I am sensible, as fully sensible as any gentleman
can be to whose lot it may fall to feel the of
so important presumptuous and unaccustomed an address how much more agreeable pleasant
it is to us all, and on all occasions to do as we please than as
we ought.
I am accordingly aware, that unless (it should
happen) to gentlemen in the situation in question it
should happen to feel find themselves altogether unlike to what
men are in every other, it is not in the nature of
any such suggestion as are here hazarded to expence
at the hands of the gentlemen to whom they are addressed,
any thing like a ready and willing and cordial acceptance.
