(6) Conclusion
7
J.B.'s Object of these
suggestions, saving
Co-Accountants
from vexation such
as that experienced.
The end and object which all this importance in and by troublesome/lious an address as the present can not
but be
proposed to itself I have been proposing to myself is the exempting procuring for my eventual
companions in misfortune — such persons to whose lot
in the quality character under the name of Accountants, it shall have fallen
to stand before the judicatory in the character/situation of suitors, with whom which in the presumptuous
character of amicus curæ I am
in the evil of taking this so unaccustomed if not unprecedented
liberty.
8
In this hope he
found a partial
compensation for
the vexation produced
by the interruption
given to
the endeavour to do
good in a more
extensive scale
Interrupted in a pursuit which held no had no pursuant of
advantage for its object an obscure individual may venture to say as
much, had for its object the a of the public on so more
extensive ground than the present for its object — interrupted, and
in no inconsiderable degree thwarted and retarded by
the interruption, I have found a sort of consolation
and compensation in the hope, howsoever faint, or at any rate in the endeavour of [giving to the sort course
of private and personal objective into which I found
myself drawn, a sort direction of turn, by which a
private vexation might incidentally be made productive
of public benefit.] out of the bilker to extract sweat,
out of the cup of private vexation to extract public
benefit.
9
Should the reputation
of the department
of government be
encreased by the
proposed measures
this will be in addition
to the compensation
sought as above
If of the supposed improvement in the mode course of its practice
an encrease given to the reputation of this branch of
his Majesty's government the public service — of this branch part, for such it
has been shewn to be of the Judicial Establishment should
be an ulterior result, the corollary will would be, as it is in
the nature of every corollary to be so no an another item to be
placed to the profit side of the Accounts
