In the event of the Accounts having been passed,
will the Accountant then be even at that term, permitted to receive back
that portion of which he had looked upon as his property? In the
passage in question no such intimation is given
nor to can any such expectations find so much as a
word to warrant it. ground itself upon.

Here then are the papers in question whatsoever may happen
to be the contents, put out of the power taken <add> and as it should seem, </add> for ever -
out of the favour possession of the proprietor lawful owner the Accountant.

But (says the aforesaid Letter in continuation
and conclusion) " you or any person in your behalf
may inspect or take copies, in this office,
" of such of the said papers as you may deem necessary."
Such was the permission, which, in the
instance of the particu individual Accounts in question.

presumption would it in every case be granted given  ?
On this point, the risk, if on this point any rule every sort there be, in relation
