2 §§. 3. Modes Observation

1. Direct Of direct authenticative evidence ever the
understand always/always supposing it if extracted in the best mode the
probative force is, in the instance of every one of its three
modifications modes, greater than that of any of the six modifications modes
of circumstantial evidence.

2. If called for at the instance of a party opposed
in interest, of the testimony of a party to the one person whose
upon the face of it name and supposed signature in the
character of that a party to the instrument appears upon
the face of it, the probative force is greater than that of
the testimony of any person at large whose name and supposed signature
appears in like manner in the character of that
of an attesting witness.

Measure. 1. His being called for at the instance of the
party in question is a proof that in the judgment of that

all direct evidence, article for article the probative force is greater
than
that of any single
article of circumstantial
evidence, to employ
any other evidence
in preference to this would
be to employ weaker in
preference to stronger
evidence.
