Panopt. Compensation Claim III. Contract
§§.7. Other Rates
(5) 5 Observations
VI. As to the 6th Rate, viz. Southwell Rate for one quarter,
ending 25 Decr1813.
1. For or Against the Claimant. In this case the Rate
of amount of Earnings is considerably greater than in the
preceding one furnished by the same Gentleman Magistrate in relation
to the same Prison: the amount of earnings greater,
and thus the Rate of Profit deducible from it, more
favourable to the Claimant. But And here in relation as it should seem to this last quarter, viz.
in relation to "the
"last week" being
parcel of this last
quarter, in the Account
of earnings, particulars are given: but the time comprized
in this Account is no more than a single
week, and, in regard to that period of a week, the same
uncertainty as that above indicated in relation to the period
of two years has been produced by the same cause.
Answer. The same as that which, as above stands
applied to the fifth Rate — the last preceding Rate,
as above.
II. For the Claimant. Observations, Nos 1,2,3 & 4:
the same as those which were brought to view in relation
to the five preceding cases as above.
