IV. That as disclosed as according to an estimate deduced
partly from the evidence of Sir the Revd Mr Becker above,
sp referring all along to "the House of Correction at Southwill
in and for the county of Nottingham.

With perfect sincerity and unremitted labour industry have I been labouring have I laboured
I am ashamed to say for what length of time to extract from this source an estimate capable as being presented submitted
to my Arbitrators in the character of a determinate one.
In the event of their looking upon the enquiry as material
to the present purpose, should their superior skill and experience
produce a happier more fortunate result [+] [+] a result capable
of being employed in
filling up the above
blanks it will be a great real
relief satisfaction to me.

Of the evidence in question the only portions which appear present themselves
to have any application to the particular present subject now in hand are
contained in Mr Bickers examination of the 13th March 1811
pp. 33 and 34, and a wide extending Table intituled Nottinghamshire
constituting p. 121.

In p.34 an answer is given to the question — "What
is the annual expense of the establishment of the House of Correction
to the County? In the answer, two determinate years are spoken
of, viz the Year ending Midsummer 1809 and the year ending
Midsummer 1810. And in the instead of being confined to the
establishment which by the preceding question had been confined
to the official establishment, it includes "establishment, salaries
"and every contingency" . . . with sum "deducted for profits of
the prisoners' labour applied to the use of the County" ... viz.
according to a mode of apportionment which is stated in the last
preceding page (p.33) and exemplified in the abovementioned Table
