Leading Points Observations
Note A.
to the amount of 0s 2d a day, that is 1s a week
or £2.12.0 a year be entitled to an annuity
of £ s d for life commencing at the
abovementioned age of 65, according to the Table,
given by Mr Baron Mazeres in the Book on
Annuities.
If for this purpose the Penitentiary Fund
should not prove sufficient, I mean the fund
arising from their forced contributions during
their respective residences in the Penitentiary-House,
contributions likewise obligatory might
be called on in aid, to be furnished during one
or more of the first years of their service in the Metasylum
or under a Friendly Bondsman: for
which eventual supplement I have accordingly
made provision in this Draught.
If any thing can be afforded above this
minimum, it will naturally be applied to the
proportional encrease of the annuities of those whose contributions
will have been most considerable.
This much I will take upon me to engage
for, that though I will not ruin myself to make
up this minimum, yet till I have made it up
in some way or other made it up provision for it I will put
nothing in into my pocket. This supposes always, that
Prisoners are sent to me for at least as long a
time as they are now sent for at present to the Hulks, or to
New Holland.
