Art. 3 And whereas fixed denominations some words and as Art. 3. And For legal certainty and for saving of repetition,
favourable to legal certainty Be it moreover enacted that
Art. 3 Such Penitentiary-Establishment shall be
called the National General Panopticon Penitentiary-Establishment
or Penitentiary-House; the
spot on which the same shall have been built
Panopticon-Place or Panopticon-Hill; any person so contracted
with, Governor of the said Establishment; and
the any person or persons next in authority to such Governor
and for that purpose under his hand and seal
appointed, Lieutenant-Governor Sub-Governor or Governor or Deputy-Governor or Governor thereof: and
the Prisoners thereunto belonging, Penitentiary-Men
or -Women: and the term for which any such
Prisoner stands committed his Form or Penitentiary-Term: and
any any offence he committed by him after his discharge
from thence, a Post-liberation Offence: any provision made [+]

of an annuity to
commence at an
advanced period of life,
his Requiem Superannuation Annuity:
and any subsidiary
establishment
for the affording employment
to such Prisoners
upon the expiration
of their terms,

Governor a Corporation
Sole

Art. 3 4. The Governor for the time being shall
be a Corporation Sole: ++ By Penitentiary Act
// Clerk of the Peace
made Corporation Sole. and as such capable of
purchasing Hereditaments in succession: and of
suing and being sued by that description and
not by name.
