Sexes to be kept
separate

Art. 6. If in virtue of any such Contract Prisoners
of both sexes shall be intrusted to the
care of the same person Governor's care,
provision shall be made that the two sexes shall
either not be kept under the same roof, or that
at any rate they shall be kept in different
divisions, and that in such manner that
no intercourse shall at any time be practicable
between division and division, in respect either no forbidden intercourse
of sight or having shall at any time be
practicable.

Powers conferrable
by Contract —
Governor may
employ Prisoners
for his own benefit
with the
powers of a
Master

Art. 7. in the such Contract may be a clause authorizing
the Governor to employ the Prisoners
for his own benefit: for which purpose he shall
have the same powers over them as any Master
has over any species of servant by Common
Law.

8.
Duplicate to
be kept in the
Crown Office

Art. 8. On the signing of every such Contract, a
duplicate thereof shall also be signed and shall be forthwith
transmitted by the Governor to the Clerk of
the Crown in the Court of King's Bench, and
shall be by him kept among the Records of his
Office. for the proof
