Any Metasylum man or woman who without
intending final Statute discretion absents him or herself
from service without leave or other reasonable cause may be punished on conviction
before and a Justice with confinement to in
the Panopticon Penitentiary House for as above
for any term not greater than ten times the amount
of such time of absence.

Any Metasylum man or woman who
absenting him or herself from service in the
intention absolutely to desert may be punished either on
conviction before a Justice be punished with confinement
as aforesaid for not more than six months
or on conviction by Indictment be punished as
for with confinement as aforesaid
for a time
any time not greater than three years.

Any person accessory, whether before or
after the fact, to the unlawful absentation of a
Metasylum man or woman from service knowing
or having sufficient reason to believe such
absentation to be unlawful shall forfeit to the
party grieved at the rate of not more than 10s a
day during the time of such absentation, on conviction
before one Justice.
