And whereas the Governor will have a common
interest with the Public in of the
good behaviour of the liberated Penitentiary-Man
and thereby in the character and sufficiency
of his Friendly Bondsman Guardian, And
Whereas in the Metropolis and the vicinity persons
suspicious of doubtful characters will by reason of the
great greatness of the population be naturally most abundant and
less known, whereby it may be so much the
easier for them to impose themselves as persons
of unexceptionable character upon Magistrates
Ministers and or Parish officers and other persons
not having no special interest in the dectection
of the such imposture Be it enacted that as
any time between the transmission of such examination
to the Governor and the expiration of
the Penitentiary-Term of the Prisoner in question
the Governor may, if the abode of the Examinant be not more than
ten miles distant from the Penitentiary House,
require the such Examinant at his convenience to repair the <unclear>recants within,</unclear>
and then and there to undergo farther examination:
and so toties quoties as often as may be necessary
for the chasing up any doubts reasonably
entertained by on the part of the said Governor, in respect of the
fitness of such Examinant: and if such Examinant
