Friendly Guardianship XI

Art. 16. If in consequence of such
If upon the taking the examination as aforesaid, the examinant
should appear to the in the judgment
of the Magistrate taking the same appear fit
to be accepted, he such Magistrate shall transmitt deliver the
same or a copy thereof attested by him to the
Examinant: to the end that the Examinant may,
after procuring the accreditation certificate above mentioned,
transmitt the same to the Governor. But if
otherwise, such Magistrate shall the same
(permitting the Examinant to take an attested copy)
and thereof, and shall transmitt the same (which he may do by
the Post) to the Governor at the Penitentiary House
expressing his doubt or persuasion thereupon:
and in such case it shall be at the discretion
of the Governor to accept such Examinant
or not as he may think proper. Be it also in

Art. 18. So also, in
case of non-acceptance, whether to assign give to the
Prisoner or not the finally option of proferring another
person as a Friendly in the room of the
person so rejected.
