Example of Declaratory Rules touching Escapes &c
General Panopticon Penitentiary House Day Month Year
The following are the acts which on the part of any Prisoner will be deemed attempts
to escape from the said Prison, and as such punished with [ } according to a list
prepared by the Governor and approved by the Majesty
the Court of King's Bench in pursuance of the Statute
Geo: 3. Ch.
1. Breaking or attempting to break through
outer wall of the building.
2. Breaking or attempting to break through any of a side wall on
the Partitions between Cell and Cell.
3. Breaking or attempting to break through the inner
grating or glazed partition of any Cell: or forcing or picking
or attempting to force or pick any lock thereto belonging.
4. Breaking or attempting to break into the Inspection-Lodge.
5. Breaking down & Breaking through undermining, getting over, getting
under, or attempting to break down break through, undermine or
get over the or under any part of the surrounding wall.
Like Provisions in respect of the travelling Ambulatory
Panopticon should any such be made.
