Art. 18. — And for the more effectual fixing upon the
firmer basis the security meant to be afforded to the public
by the Any institution of the Metasylum Be it enacted, that any Metasylum man or woman, who, without
intending absolute desertion, absented him or shall have
herself from service but without or
justification or excuse,⊞ ⊞ shall have absented him or herself from service otherwise than on the appointed days and hours of restred have may be punished on conviction
before a Justice of the Peace be punished with confinement with to hard labour int he General Panopticon Penitentiary House
and that without for any term not greater than
ten times the amount of such time of unlawful absence: and
that without receiving any such share of earnings
as aforesaid is allowed to other the Prisoners on the said
establishment.

Art. 19. 12 Any Metasylum man or woman quondam Penitentiary prisoner absenting
him or herself from his or her service should in the Metasylum⊞ ⊞ or his or her place of prescribed residence under the guardianship of a Friendly Bondsman
absolutely to desert may be punished either with the same, may on conviction before a Justice
of the Peace, be or punished with
confinement as aforesaid for not more than Six
months on conviction before a Justice, or on indictment, for any term not greater than those
years.

Art. 19 Any person accessory, whether before or after
the fact, to the unlawful absentation of a Metasylum
man or woman or of the Ward of such Friendly Bondsman Guardian service, knowing
or having sufficient reason to believe such absentation
to be unlawful shall forfeit to the
party
