And whereas the ranking of an offence
of sufficient under the denomination
of felony, is, (under the present state of the law in respect to the effectuation of
attended with divers advantage beneficial consequence in respect of
the mode of procedure thereuntoprovided for appertaining
to offences so denominated to that divers essential objects of procedure, ⊞ ⊞ attended with divers beneficial consequences, and in particular in respect
to previous the collection of the investigation and securing of evidence by preparatory
examination, the securing the and the securing the appearance production of the body of the suspected person or justice and the effectuation of
other persons of to the great benefit
of the movement and the bonds aforesaid in general
the guilty in readiness to be dealt with according to law would which said consequences, do not
<add>would not as the law at present stands would not extend to attach upon to
offences not comprised under the said denomination,
even although the such offences were otherwise to be
of a higher order than simple felony as well in respect of punishment
as of guilt, Be it enacted that
the offence several offences in this present Act
made felony shall in respect to the several purposes of Hue and Cry
Arrest, Examination, Bail, Committment, and
all other steps that may in the course of procedure be taken with respect of to
felonious of here deemed felonious be upon the footing
of either offence to denominated be dealt with
in the manner of felonies.
