If although the Penitentiary Man examination of a
Penitentiary Man does not lend to charge any
Place as the Place of his Settlement, the Governor
if he sees shall see course to suspect that the examinant
has a Place of Settlement notwithstanding, the said Governor may,
proceed for the obtaining supplemental subsidiary evidence,
proceed in the manner herein prescribed provided
for Place of Settlement in favour of Parishes as aforesaid.

So also for the purpose of encounterring
any such subsidiary evidence as may in manner aforesaid have
been obtained on the application of any such Parishes
as aforesaid
Art. 24.
