And whereas for the facilitation of the
divers businesses more easy and exact performance
of divers duties and the execution of divers powers conferred created by this Act, as
well as in some instances for the better guidance
of the proceedings of Magistrates and for the prevention
of the new preservation of such proceedings from
being quashed for want of form informality to the
great discouragement of divers forms are
have provided by the forgery whereof divers mischiefs

Art. 29. And Be it enacted that
whosoever with intent to defraud any person
shall alone or with others be concerned in obliterating,
altering or fabricating any written required or printed instrument
made or purporting to be made in performance
of this Act so or in making a like
fraudulent use of any such obliteration, alteration
or fabrication, or in attempting so to do shall
be deemed guilty of felony, and be committed
to the said Penitentiary House for seven years. Moreover
