DISTINCTIONS (I)
Red Ink Additions.
1. All additions to be distinguished in Red Ink.
Blue do Corrollaries.
2. Corrollaries to be distinguished in Blue Ink.
Green do Correction of
meaning
3. Corrections in meaning by Green Ink.
Axiom metamorphised
to preparatory Prop.
4. Therefore when an Axiom of Euclid is transformed into a
Preparatory Proposition it will be written in Green
Ink, because that Colour denotes correction in meaning
and the demonstration will be written in Red because
that Colour denotes Addition.
Printing of
New Propositions.
5. New Propositions might be printed in a different
coloured Ink, they must be somehow distinguished.
Suspence &
Satisfaction
Marks of.
6. When any Prop:Cor: Definition, Ax: &c. is not thought
Satisfactory put a cross of red Ink to it to denote
Suspence if afterwards it is thought satisfactory put
another red cross, if again it should be thought not
satisfactory put a third cross, and so on toties quoties
an even number of Red Crosses denoting Satisfaction
an uneven number Suspence.
