Conduct
While a learner while Ignorant many questions
arise many doubts which I found men
at a loss to solve. Words they gave me
in sentences for mine but such as by no
means [solved my doubts] cleared my satisfied me |
represented matter in a clear light | removed the
obscurity]. I then imputed it rather to the
weakness of my apprehension than the want
of clear Ideas in those I consulted. I argued
of the use of Geometry they told me it was of
Universal Use, it was the foundation of all
Science and of accurate reasoning, much satisfaction
I got from this answer I pressed them again
I asked them to give me a particular
example of its Use, they told me navigation
depended on it men could neither navigate
the seas nor measure land without it.
Perhaps neither to measure land or navigate
the seas either of them what I wished
to do, if I told them this they If I done
be so as they was or rather appear so important
the answer the ultimate answer I got was
learn it study it and try. Suppose one
in this inclination a of us what encouragement
has he to fortify him against the
shock he receives at opening a Euclid?
