I have thus perceived I had got another
advantage of the new method. a new
arrangement an arrangement universally
sought after, a systematic arrangement,
an arrangement which gives makes renders the
subject matter more apprehensible easier sooner apprehended and easier
remembered.

Another advantage of this arrangement was
that thereby I was enabled to discover
the lacunae, to discover what was the parts wanting
as well as what was redunant parts superfluous. Sometimes
I found an expression perfectly capable of
including universal propositions, there I
cut off a redundancy. at other times
I observed that each Genus had not
been exposed to the same circumstances
had not been considered in the same light
had it been treated in the same manner
did not include the same variations.
Here I perceived lacunae to be filled
up [that the subject was not exhausted.
Thus did I go on generalising till I
had compressed them into the foremost compass
they never stand
