but have capped that this method
does not come up to Euclid's in point
of accuracy to all Quantities whatever
to Incommensurables. What I have done
is to attempt to shew prove that first
that this method will in theory
the accuracy of Practice, and secondly
that Euclid's method was is at
last subject to the same inaccuracy
and in short that it depends on
the new method.
It has been the general consensus for Authors
on this subject (as last) to make some Apology
for the Number of Books on the Subject, in
better to give a general description of that wherein his
work differ than that of others on the same subject.
Whenever I got over a difficulty I endeavored to
find what it was that had caused it. I
noticed it, with a view of clearing out of
the way of others. This is an advantage
which as a learner I had over any other
I believe I may say any other, Masters those
who write upon a subject one in general
Masters, much as once arrived at an age and
at a dexterity of handling the subjects as to
have forgotten this difficulty, which at
attended them when learners.
