Actual Subject matters of multiplication & division
are these
1. Weights.
2. Measures

Quantities is a term applying to both
In a can of weights the multipliers
& divisings are indefinitely
divisible & in no small degree
actually diversified as applied to
different species of subject matter
as for instance gold & the silver — but
the agregate of the results of the subdivision
of this all-comprehensive
subject matter is divided into the three
so called kingdoms namely the
mineral: the vegetable & the animal.
In the case of each of these kingdoms
the results of the process of division
as it goes on are the several classes,
orders genera & species or by whatsoever
appellations the results of these
several results are distinguished.
In the mineral kingdom: examples of the
subject matters to which this operation
is in customary practice is applied
are the following:—
1. gold
2. silver
3. precious stones

In the vegetable kingdom
1 fruits
2 roots by the pound weight &c

in one table & in
the results of
the several fraudulent operations
by which the different
quantities of the nine
precious metals in the several
compared subject matters in question
are passed off as the same the smaller the same as
the larger by means of thus by the same appellative
