For the chargeable of all occurrences — of all states of things of all events
of which it has cognizence the Italian mode of Account-
keeping or say Bookkeeping (Account keeping is the most
expressive and eloquent of the two) have but two applications
Debtor and Creditor. From this source flows a matter
of ambiguity, obscurity and ambiguity which renders them
in an eminent degree ill-adapted to use.

two terms of universal Jurisprudence
In this original acceptation, from which they have been
been by commercial use for commercial purpose distorted and
turned aside and distorted, they are terms of law jurisprudence, agreing in
this that they are correspondent to one another and are stood assembled
associated with and indicative of the state of things designated
by the word obligation.

A Debtor or the Debtor is By the word Debtor is designated a person who on whom by the power
of government is imposed the obligation of transferring or say
conveying to another the subject matter in question, namely a
sum of money out of his own possession into the possession of
another person to whom in respect of his being considered with
a view to the transaction is termed his creditor
By the word Creditor is accordingly designated a person, in
whose favour the obligation just mentioned stands imposed on the
person designated by the word Debtor. As to the fictitious entity obligation
to shew how birth is given to it by the word command and the idea of eventual punishment belong
to universal Jurisprudence.

The two terms, are accordingly correspondent to each
forming the being designative respectively of the two parts of the species of
relation which they are employed in giving indication of.
In the language of Italian Bookkeeping the following are the
instances in which they are employed in which no such relation
as that of obligation has place

known as contradistinguished from a thing 1. Multiplication 2d applying it to a
thing.
