§ Media of demonstration
&c

1 1

☞ Add or say Contrivance or Device or expedient
as synonyms to medium of invention

§. Media of demonstration and effectuation

1
Analogous to art and
science and art are
thema and probla
medium of demonstrating
and medium of effectuation

1. Posology is one of the branches of art-and-science.
That, all over the field of human intellect, Art and Science
go travel hand-in-hand — that every Art has Science belonging
to it, every Science its Art — that in conception they may
be separated from each other, but that in fact and reality
they are inseparable has been shewn elsewhere.

In the field of posology Correspondent to the distinction thus applying to which
field of thought and action is the distinction between
between a medium of demonstration and a medium
of effectuation. Throughout the whole field of Posology as
the Scientist makes his way, he finds either something which he
is desirous to know and to make known or as the phrase
is demonstrate, or something which he is desirous
to be sure of doing, and of shewing others how to do

2
Problems are ends
in view, media of effectuation,
means as to
those ends

2. These two objects are all along his ends-in-view
or say the ends he aims at — the ends he aims at being
able as the phrase is to attain — to fulfill or accomplish. But
like Father and Son — Parent and Offspring, as in fact, so in idea,
ends and means go together. No object of desire can
you fix your attention upon in the character of an end, no
object of desire can you fix your attention upon, without
looking being upon the lookout for something in the character
of a means looking to the attainment of that same end;
and conversely no object can you look to in the character
of a means, without looking to at the same time to something
else in the character of an end-in-view without reference
to which it is a means, as being conducive to the attainment
of it.

3
Media of demonstration
and effectuation
are both media of
invention or say
discovery: when
new.

An appellation applicable in common to a medium of demonstration
and a medium of effectuation, is a medium of invention
or say of discovery. Add as synonyms thereto the words device, contrivance,
expedient, device though to all these adheres something of a dislogistic
odour: most strongest of all
in the case of device.
