to the several propositions in which it is employed.

place.

Note here the relation between a Preparation and
a Contrivance. The Preparation will consist either 1. simply of reference
made to the contrivance: or of additions
made to the diagram figure and its diagram for
the purpose of shewing that the contrivance is applicable
to that proposition as well as the others in which
employment is given to it.
