Quest. Into how many and what sorts may hexaedrons,
or six-sided figures, be distinguished?
Ans. 1. Into right those which are completely
rectangular and those which are not completely
rectangular.
Quest. Into how many and what sorts may
those which are compleatly rectangular be distinguished?
Ans. 2. Those of which all the sides are equal
to one another, and those into which not so many as
all the sides are equal to one another.
Quest. What are those of which all the sides
are equal to one another?
Ans. Cubes.
Quest. What are those of which not all the
sides are equal to one another?
Ans. They have no particular name: but,
together with cubes, are designated by one common
appellative, viz parrallelepipedons: and being, as above,
rectangular, they are rectangular parrallelepipedons.
Quest. Into how many sorts are those rectangular
parrallelepipedons, which have a greater number
of sides equal than two distinguished?
Ans. There is no distinction, they are all of
the same sort.
Ans. Into those that have four sides equal
to one another; and those that have but two sides
equal to one another.
Quest. By what name are those designated
which have four sides and no more equal to one
another?
Ans. There is no particular name for them
in use. They form another sort of rectangular
parallelepipedons.
