Question 15. Give a familiar example to
shew the distinction of the points of agreement and
difference between aligomorphics and morphoscopics.

Answer. Here, then, is my hand. Looking
at my hand I see, that, reckoning that finger which
has, besides the name of thumb for one I see that
there are five fingers to it. If I look at my thumb alone,
abstracting my attention from the circumstance
of its figure, as well as from all other circumstances belonging
to it, I perceive the number which, in my language,
is named one: if at that and the next together,
number two, and so on.

Question 16 or 1. As between aligomorphics
and morphoscopics, which is the branch of posology
it will be most convenient to begin with?

Answer. Aligomorphics otherwise
called Arithmetic.

Question 17 or 2. Why so?

Answer 1. Because the conceptions belonging
to it are more simple than those belonging to
the other. 2. Because the conceptions belonging to morphoscopics
can not be made clear, otherwise than by reference
to the conception belonging to aligomorphics.

Question 18 or 3. Give an example to
shew this.
