The case is — that till now — never has the art of Logic
been called in to contribute to the diffusion by contributing to the elucidation

First comes Enter first Abbreviation. How, by the process called abstraction
the Idea of number in general — of the ideas of numbers in particular
were formed — were generated — will be shewn to more advantage
further on. At present, For the present purpose suppose them formed.

Originally by it is the character — the variable sign employed in ordinary
discourse — namely the words — the several words — one
