Ch. 2

§. 1

Of posology as of every other art-and-science
the value and claim to notice will be directly as the use
derivable from it, inversely as the labour necessary to be bestowed
upon it for the purpose of deriving from it that use.

The use of it consists depends altogether in on the application
capable of being made of it for to the several purposes of human life: and to the several branches of
physical art and science that is to say in the augmentation
of the quantity and value of the use capable of being derived
from them for the augmentation of the aggregate mass of pleasure
and the diminution of the aggregate mass of pain

In the whole or in any part On the part of posology suppose on the part no end applicability,
its value ceases altogether
