In a former work* a compressed view has
been given of the works printed + by Mr Bentham
on the subject of Pano the Panopticon Penitentiary Houses. It might
be sufficient to refer the reader to this work but
for the purpose of the present chapter it will
be necessary to explain shortly to explain, the
