Parly. Reform
Seeing the Right Honorable Surveyor of Melling crow
as I have had the honour to do, walking about on two
legs and without any appearance of feathers, I conclude
that he is a man. This conclusion formed my mind I find,
itself drawn on irresistibly drawn on into another: viz. that
being a man he will do as men in general do man in general does, viz.
prefer his own interest to every other. By In this conclusion
which were it ever so conscious I could not help keep myself from forming
by in this conclusion no not any of the smallest atom of personal disrespect is involved as
towards the Right Honorable gentleman: for what the conclusion
have for its ground is – not the part of his name being his name being
Perceval – not his being able to make so such good an answer
to his own catechism. Quere tu benis est? que patre
natus? – but to his name's being man.
