When Mr Alexander Davison was standing at the bar King's
Bench Bar hearing his sentence one of among the other
misdeeds misdoings with which he heard himself reproached by the
learned representatives of the Court condemning and Judge Mr Justice Grose was this
viz. that he had placed himself in that situation –
that situation so perilous to human frailty the frailty of human probity that of finding
himself under the pressure of an interest acting in a
direction opposite to that of his duty.
