Parly Reform Sinecures
Include offices executed by deputy
§. Course proper to be pursued in relation to Sinecures
If in the character given as above of this fo
mode of pretended remuneration and real pillage
there be any thing like truth, nothing few things can be more obvious
or more indisputable than the course proper
to be pursued.
1. As to all every Sinecures in possession take an account
of the average annual value of each, and secure it the amount to the
incumbent in the form of a pension: that done, abolish
the Sinecure.
This is exactly what has been done in the case of
the In the case of the reduced Exchequer Sinecures, viz.
the Auditorship and the Tellerships (with the exception
of those enormous ones which were found remain,
in the possession of the incumbents in whose hands they
were formed) in these and the case of those and
all others in the like case nothing more would be to
be done than to the convert the Sinecure and give a
pension to the same amount in the room of it.
